From Constant Overwhelm to a Greater Sense of Calm & Control

My mind never seems to shut off, I can't relax even when I try and I overthink everything. I am finding myself being anxious about my anxiety

I avoid social situations because I am scared of being judged or maybe I am doing something wrong

My anxiety is affecting me physically. My heart races, my stomach hurts and I am struggling to sleep

I am worried something is wrong with my body, every symptom makes me think its something more serious

Anxiety is a normal emotion, we all experience it. It is this feeling of fear, apprehension and often a worry about a future event. However, anxiety can become persistent, overwhelming and affecting daily life. Anxiety comes with a wide range of physical sensations that many find concerning and scary. Anxiety disorders can feel scary. But there are many ways to work with them.

General anxiety often feels like a constant sense of worry or unease that’s hard to turn off. Your mind may jump from one concern to another, even when things seem “fine” on the outside. It can show up as overthinking, restlessness, or difficulty relaxing. Over time, it can feel exhausting to always be on edge.

What we might focus on:

  • Calming the body through creative mindfulness

  • Releasing intrusive thoughts through expressive techniques

  • Identifying triggers and building emotional regulation tools

  • Exploring perfectionism and self-criticism

  • Developing self-compassion and inner safety

  • Cultivating a sleep routine to combat sleep anxiety

  • Focusing on active vs reactive strategies to help with those panic attacks

"When we understand that our anxiety has important information to offer, a crucial shift occurs. Our uneasy feelings are no longer the enemy...they become our tools and allies instead"

 Framework For Therapy

I approach therapy with an understanding of how past experiences can impact the nervous system, emotions, and relationships. My focus is on creating a space that feels safe, supportive, and empowering.

Modalities & Tools

Art Therapy uses creative expression as a way to explore thoughts, emotions, and experiences. No artistic skill is needed. It's about the process of creating and what comes out of that and not the art looks like. Art therapy isn't about teaching arts-based skills but it is a way. to explore your inner world and representing it in a tangible way. Art therapy allows clients to express feelings that may be difficult to articulate with words. Although, it is also very common to talk through what is going on for you during an art therapy session. Generally a combination of creating and discussion is involved. For many, the act of creating art provides a safe, nonverbal way to express feelings that might otherwise remain buried. Art therapists facilitate this process, guiding clients through the therapeutic journey while offering support, insight, and a safe environment for self-exploration.
